Pueblo peruano se alza en contra del nuevo presidente interino (2020)

Tras subir al mandato el nuevo presidente interino Manuel Merino (2020) el pueblo peruano expreso su molestia y desconformidad saliendo a protestar, al inicio de manera pacífica en distintos sectores de Lima, siendo no esta la única razón de las protestas sino que también la mayoría muestra que están en contra de la destitución de Martin Vizcarra, mientras que otro grupo no lo defiende pero argumentan que fue imprudente vacarlo en los momentos de dificultad y decadencia por los que se estaba pasando en ese año y que el vacarlo solo traería más crisis de las que ya habían. La primera marcha nacional fue considerada como una de las más concurridas de los últimos 20 años en la nación sudamericana. Asimismo, en las marchas consecutivas se reportaron enfrentamientos violentos entre los cuerpos de seguridad y los manifestantes. Añadiendo a lo anterior, La Coordinadora Nacional de Derechos Humanos (2020), denuncia que "(…) las fuerzas de seguridad usaron perdigones de goma y gases lacrimógenos de forma indiscriminada contra un grupo de manifestantes que intentó acercarse a la sede del Congreso en Lima" (BBC News Mundo), provocando de esta forma las dos primeras víctimas mortales en la sexta jornada, así como un número indeterminado de heridos. Finalmente, estas protestas dieron resultados positivos, Manuel Merino renuncio de manera pública a su puesto como presidente interino, llevando a unas elecciones para escoger a un sucesor siendo así el elegido Francisco Sagasti.

Peruvian people rise up against new interim president (2020)

After the new interim president Manuel Merino (2020) took office, the Peruvian people expressed their annoyance and disagreement by going out to protest, at first peacefully in different sectors of Lima, this not being the only reason for the protests but also the majority shows that they are against the dismissal of Martin Vizcarra, while another group does not defend him but argues that it was imprudent to vacate him in the moments of difficulty and decline that he was going through that year and that vacating him would only bring more crisis of the ones that already existed. The first national march was considered one of the most popular in the last 20 years in the South American nation. Likewise, in the consecutive marches, violent confrontations were reported between the security forces and the demonstrators. Adding to the above, the National Human Rights Coordinator (2020), denounces that "(...) the security forces used rubber bullets and tear gas indiscriminately against a group of protesters who tried to approach the Congress headquarters in Lima (BBC News Mundo), thus causing the first two fatalities on matchday six, as well as an undetermined number of injuries. Finally, these protests gave positive results, Manuel Merino publicly resigned his position as interim president, leading to elections to choose a successor, thus being the chosen Francisco Sagasti.
